What's at the show?
There will be many trucks and machines at the "Hayes 100th Anniversary Show", from Hayes trucks, the Farquhar steam tractor, radio controlled trucks and boats, to a ride on miniature steam train, and much more.
This show celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Hayes Manufacturing Company, which was a Vancouver-based company that built both highway and off-road trucks, particularly for the logging industry.
1947 Hayes Logging Truck
This was the first truck restored by members of the newly-formed Industrial Heritage Society, more than 35 years ago. It was part of the 'exhibit' sent from Port Alberni to "EXPO '86" in Vancouver, along with the restored "Two-Spot" steam locomotive and the Steam Donkey.
From one old vehicle, the "Industrial Collection" of restored trucks and machinery has grown to a collection that is the envy of most heritage machinery organizations in Western Canada.
Naturally, "Old Yeller" will have pride of place at the "Hayes (& Friends) 100th Anniversary Truck Show this summer
